Three of my girlfriends and I have decided to start doing short trips together all over the place. We are hitting Chicago in February but are having a hard time figuring out where best to spend our time.
We are for sure going to the Shedd, but we want to hear some great live blues while we are there. I am trying to convince them that we NEED to go to Buddy Guys...he is a living legend and if we can see him while we are there, we need to take that opportunity. Tickets haven't gone on sale yet, but I am going to be watching like a hawk from here on out.
We are checking out the Chicago based websites, but it is always so hard to know what is actually good and worth going to. So, we need your help!
Have any of you been to Chicago? If so, what do you recommend? We are only going for 2 days and want to try to keep it cheap.

Not only have I been to Chicago- I live in Chicago. Well, the surrounding area anyway. But I grew up here. Chicago in February is tough because of the cold but you could probably find some great things to do anyway. I would hit the Sears Tower (or Willis Tower to those who want to call it that). I haven't been to the Shedd yet- I know, I know- but the Art museum and museum of Science & Industry are so awesome. You have to see the Bean and there is shopping at the Magnificent Mile. If you're ever here when it's warm, I suggest the architectural boat tours. They're really interesting. There are probably bus tours you could go on in February though. There are lots of great places to eat- For fun you could try Kuma's Corner. It's a heavy metal themed hamburger joint but beware- it gets crowded. http://www.kumascorner.com/ Where are you staying? I hope you're staying in the burbs- the city is way to expensive. I can maybe give you some ideas for nightlife too. Here are some websites that even us locals use to find out what's going on:
